The initial consultation is 45-50 minutes long. Based on the interview and any other information you provide, I make recommendations from which we collaboratively develop a plan for treatment. Infrequently, two sessions are needed for the initial evaluation.
Subsequent sessions are based on need and circumstance. The following are some of the most common situations:
1. A medical provider makes a referral from their practice for evaluation and follow-up.
2. A psychiatrist refers a person for a consultation to the treatment.
3. A psychotherapist who is not an MD or NP refers a person for evaluation and follow-up of medications (psychopharmacology).
4. A person asks a friend for the name of a psychiatrist
The most common services I provide are:
1. Initial Psychiatric Evaluation (45-50 minutes)
2. Psychopharmacology follow-up (20-30 minutes)
3. Ongoing psychotherapy (45-50 minutes)
I do not participate in any insurance plans but I will provide you with an invoice containing all the necessary codes and information needed so that you can submit to your insurance company directly. You will be responsible for payment at the time of service. The type of insurance you have will determine whether you will be reimbursed and if so, what the amount will be. You may wish to check with your insurance company before scheduling a visit.
